How does Winston's relationship with Julia differ than with Katharine?
If it is really easy for Winston and Julia to rebel against the party do you think there are others like them doing the same things?
How does Julia rebel against the rebellion?
Yes, there are many others. That's why people disapear so often, like winston's newspeak friend. This is why winston amd julia are so careful, they've seen other people disapear and confess later on the telescreens. Whether their confessions are true or not does not matter, they clearly did something the party disaproves of. Which is clear evidence there are other people doing the similar activities.
Julia rebels against the rebellion by having sex.
Winston loves julia and hates katherine. Winston told julia that he has had dreams and thoughts of pushing kathrine off a cliff.
Julia and Winston's relationship is centered around sex like Kathrarine and winstons. The difference arises in the pleasure aspect. Katharine wanted to do it for the party and have offspring where as Julia is a little bit of a nympho and does it for the pleasure and to rebel against the party. It is possible that there are others like Julia and Winston or there could have been or might be in the future. They would have gotten caught or will get caught and that is a fact. Everyone gets caught, as the book says.
Winston's relationship with Julia is different than his relationship with katharine because Julia and him are real. His wife was really dry with him and was posing a front the entire marriage. It wasnt a real marriage. What him and julia have is genuine.
Winston's relationship with Julia and Katherine are similar by both are having sex but Katherine and Winston's relationship purpose is to have kids and doing it for the party. Winston and Julia's relationship is different by she is having sex for pleasure and to rebel. It isn't easy for them to rebel with all the spies and surveillance. There are possibly others out there like Winston and Julia but they have either been caught and killed or will get caught.
Is the line "and insteaad of the eyes of the girl, the eyes of the aged prisioner gazed mournfully at winston out of the nests of hair" a foreshadow for tragedy?
Is julia winston's sister?
Are rocket bombs launched by the government, and are the big bombs nukes?
What do you think will come of the meeting at O'Briens?
Did the content of the note surprise you?
Do you think Julia and Winston's relationship will end well or poorly?
Do you think Julia and Winstons relationship will end well or poorly?
Well I think that the relationship
willl not end like what Winston wanted because Julia wanted to be with Winston for pleasure and to "rebel" big brother. In the novel Julia says that she hates the party but doesn't really talk stuff about the party. Also she turned down the invitation to help Winston rebel. All she want to do is stop beinging restricted from not having pleasure. All in all the relationship will turn poorly for the action and the belief of her "rebelling".
I think winstons and Julia's relationship will last pretty long because he finds feelings for her. I think that Winston will break the relationship up if she doesn't find out that big brother is taking control of her. I feel like she will change her mind and be on the same page as Winston so they can live a nice and beautiful life.
Yes, in my opinion I think that Winston's relationship with Julia will end poorly. In some ways they seem meant for each other. For example they are both rebels against Big Brother. But that in itself is also the driving point of them falling apart. They're two different types of rebellion; Winston wants to rebel against Big Brother and it's speculations on human life as a whole. Julia doesn't agree with Big Brother, but she only rebels against the small things in her own life that she wants to control like, sex, and thinking her own thoughts. Winston is concerned with everyone and because Julia doesn't share some of the same views, I believe their relationship will come to an end eventually.
I think Julia's and Winston's relationship will end poorly. I believe that because Winston's rebellion is going against the party openly and Julia wants to do it in secret because she doesn't care about the party enough to change it but she hates them would not work out in the end and that Winston would need friends to help go against the party. In the book Winston believes that sex is the ultimate rebellion against the party and that maybe Winston would something more then rebelling the party secretly.
Yes, the content of the note surprised me because Winston thought Julia was a party member and never saw that coming. I also think Winston and Julia's relationship will go far.
I think Winston and Julia's relationship will end poorly because Julia says she hates the party, but doesn't really care about big brother as well. Also, her way as rebelling against big brother is way different than what Winston is trying to do. For instance, she rebels by having pleasure with other people and Winston actually wants to bring down big brother
The note did surprise me , she claims to love Winston but she really doesn't know him that well yet. Winston is stunned as well I think for the same reason.
Do you think that Julia is being truthful to her love with Winston, and who she is?
What do you think about the love notes between Julia and winston?
I think that Julia is just trying to "rebel" with Winston and it just so happens to be with someone who actually wants to rebel
I think Julia is partially truthful with her love for Winston. She still seems mysterious and we don't know 100% what her motive is. I think Julia is with Winston because he thinks the same about the party as she does. Though Julia may not want to rebel against the party on a larger scale like Winston, just being with him is rebelling for her. Just as the quote says "She hated the party, and said so in the crudest words, but she made no general criticism of it." She is not willing to go farther and rebel on a larger scale. Julia may love Winston but I think she doesn't really know what she wants and she is still trying to find herself. She may be with Winston as he gives her the comfort she lacks.
I think the notes between are just some fake historical between in where Julia is trying to fake what she truly feels and is trying fool Winston into a mission she is trying to accomplish in him turning his evidence over.
My evidence is because Julia come out of like no where and like looks like a spy!
I think that Julia is lying about who she is and her love for Winston, I think that she's tricking him because she is part of the party and knows he wants to rebel so she is just trying to get in his head. I also think that if the party knows how the minds of rebellers think, that they can take them down, and it's her job to do that. She gets in their heads even more by sleeping with them and making them fall in love with her
I think that Julia does not actually love Winston and she is just rebelling by doing the "unspeakable" and she is just his next target. I think that the love notes are only happening because it makes them feel rebellious and spontaneous.
I would like to think that Julia is being truthful to her love for Winston. She usually calls him "dear" or "love" and is willing to listen to what's on his mind. The love note Julia gave Winston was a rather risky move if anyone saw her give it to him, but she did it anyway. That only proves her devotion to Winston, and from then on, their relationship only grew stronger.
